May There Come a Day

May there come a day,
when we exercise good-will toward all human beings with whom we disagree.
May there come a day,
when prejudice, racism and hatred will be eradicated from the human heart, ceasing forever.
May there come a day of universal brotherhood and sisterhood,
when love shall prevail in the hearts of all human beings;
when all peoples and nations shall “beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks;”
when war and terrorism shall no longer threaten humankind;
when peace shall reign to the ends of the earth,
putting an end to the sad divisions in our world.
