Minute Meditation on the Existential Meaning of Easter

Four-Implications-of-the-Empty-Tomb-Resurrection-Easter-Sunday-2011
Easter Morning

Jesus’ tomb in Jerusalem is empty, so that we might be full
– full of courage in facing suffering and pain.
His tomb is empty, so that we might be full
– full of hope in facing life’s adversities.
His tomb is empty, so that we might be full
– full of meaning, right here-and-now, in this world.
His tomb is empty, so that we might be full
– full of purpose, both for this life and the life to come.

Because of Jesus, then, life is not “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” Rather, life is full of peace, signifying an ultimate meaning that even death itself cannot remove from our lives.

Happy Easter!
