I was hurt,
so that I might be healed;
I was wrong,
so that I might be right;
I was weak,
so that I might become strong;
I was knocked down,
so that I might get back up;
I was rejected,
so that I might be accepted;
I was in error,
so that I might learn the truth;
I was told “no,”
so that I might hear “yes;”
I was sick,
so that I might be made well;
I was “wounded,”
so that I might become a wounded-healer;
I was depressed
so that I might become happy;
I was in despair,
so that I might find hope;
I was broken,
so that I might become whole;
I had failed,
so that I might succeed;
I had gotten the wrong answer,
so that I might find the right one;
I had lost,
so that I might win;
I had learned the agony of defeat,
so that I might know the thrill of victory;
I had experienced loss,
so that I might appreciate gain;
I had encountered hate,
so that I might value love;
I had experienced evil,
so that I might appreciate good;
I have learned from life’s negative experiences,
so that I might appreciate its positive ones.
I am learning to turn my tragedies into triumphs!
